European Car Diagnostics Geelong
Hunter Cuthill provides advanced vehicle diagnostics in Geelong for Land Rover, Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, BMW, MINI, Jaguar and INEOS Grenadier vehicles. Our technicians use dealer-level diagnostic equipment, live data analysis, test procedures and hands-on experience to identify faults correctly and reduce unnecessary parts replacement.
More Than Just Reading Fault Codes
At Hunter Cuthill, we combine fault code analysis with real testing. This may include:
- Full vehicle diagnostic scan
- Manufacturer-specific fault code reading
- Live data monitoring
- Freeze-frame data review
- Road testing under fault conditions
- Smoke testing for air leaks
- Fuel pressure testing
- Cooling system pressure testing
- Battery and charging system testing
- Wiring and voltage checks
- Component activation tests
- Adaptation and calibration checks
- DPF soot load and backpressure assessment
- Air suspension height and compressor testing
Common Faults We Diagnose
Our workshop regularly diagnoses complex faults including:
- Engine warning lights
- Restricted performance warnings
- DPF warning lights
- AdBlue and NOx warnings
- Air suspension faults
- Transmission and driveline warnings
- Battery drain issues
- Intermittent electrical faults
- Rough running and misfires
- Lack of power
- Turbo boost faults
- Cooling system warnings
- Fuel pressure faults
- EGR flow faults
- ABS, traction control and stability faults
- Air conditioning faults
Brand-Specific Diagnostic Experience
Different manufacturers have different fault patterns and diagnostic requirements. Hunter Cuthill has hands-on experience with common and complex issues across:
- Land Rover and Range Rover diesel emission faults
- Discovery and Range Rover air suspension faults
- Defender touring and driveline issues
- BMW diesel DPF, EGR and timing chain faults
- MINI cooling system and timing chain faults
- Jaguar AdBlue, NOx and electrical faults
- INEOS Grenadier servicing and diagnostic requirements
Why Accurate Diagnostics Matters
Incorrect diagnosis can become expensive quickly. Replacing parts based only on a fault code often fails to repair the underlying issue. This is especially true with European vehicles, where multiple systems are linked together.
For example, a DPF fault may be caused by an EGR fault, turbo boost leak, faulty temperature sensor, failed pressure sensor, injector issue or incorrect driving conditions. An air suspension fault may be caused by a height sensor, leaking air spring, valve block, compressor, wiring fault or calibration issue.
Hunter Cuthill focuses on finding the cause of the problem before recommending repairs.
